Description
A third-person shooter video game called James Bond 007 – From Russia with Love was released in 2005. The game is centered on the same-titled 1963 movie. However, it has various modifications, such as fresh personalities, new settings, and a new evil organization.
The above game is unique in that it is the first video game to feature all-new voice acting by Sean Connery after the actor had been away from the role for twenty-two years. It is also the only game that utilizes Connery’s younger similarity to James Bond. This indicates Connery’s eighth and final appearance as Bond in any media before he died in 2020. The final James Bond video game that Electronic Arts created or released before losing the rights to Activision in 2006 is “007 – From Russia with Love”.
In April 2006, an update for the PlayStation Portable was published. Critics described the game’s ratings as “mixed or average”.
Gameplay
The game consists of multiple driving stages where the player controls different armed vehicles. And player has to use instruments like rockets and a machine gun to avoid attackers. Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 and speedboats are two of the player’s armed vehicles. Across the game, jet packs in machine guns and rockets are available as well.
Bond can leap through specific approved ledges when on foot. In addition to other weapons like shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, bazookas, and grenades, he can utilize his regular Walther PPK. He is also capable of fighting opponents face-to-face. Across the game, players can earn points by defeating monsters in particular methods. They are finding designs that disappear at every stage. However, these points can be claimed for more material, like concept art and behind-the-scenes videos, or spent to enhance weaponry.
In the game, players will come across several Q devices, such as a dropping gun that may be used to go up and fall to new locations. Security doors that restrict the player’s way can be unlocked. It uses a laser wristwatch to break through bulletproof glass and smash panels of control. Tiny helicopters may be set on fire to take out specific control panels. And that are utilized to reach outlying locations. One way to temporarily disable opponents via using sonic cufflinks, which produce a high frequency. One can confuse opponents into turning against one’s side by injecting them with a drug gun from a distance. The player occasionally needs to put on a gas mask to pass through rooms that start to smell toxic.
