Description

A strategic role-playing game is called “Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions.” The game is a new edition of the 1997 PlayStation game named “Final Fantasy Tactics.” During improvement, the game was completely redesigned to build on the PSP’s screen ratio and technical capabilities. It led to new cutscenes, multiplayer operations, and extra functions. Fresh playable personalities from previous Final Fantasy games, like Luso Clemens from Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rif and Balthier from Final Fantasy XII, are also included in War of the Lions.

Gameplay

Firstly, the game was established in the imaginary world of Ivalice. It tells the story of a war between the Kingdom of Ivalice and its closest neighbor, Ordalia. That’s through the eyes of a large cast of characters from both sides. The fighting in War of the Lions is similar to physical games like chess, where each piece represents an opponent on Ramza’s present lineup. In addition to using their allotted number of moves to get around the grid-like board, every opponent can attack other fighters or develop more powerful abilities. The warriors’ range and mobility are determined by the terrain on each map. Every one of Ramza’s soldiers is capable of providing a role from the Final Fantasy series. It ranges from common fighters and shooters to magic-trained and even more exotic roles like dragoons and dancers.

Secondly, the War of the Lions has 22 vacant jobs. However, only one main set of abilities can be used at a time and is job-dependent. And once a personality has gained an ability from a job, they can use it at any time. The game also has a permadeath mechanic, which means that a personality is completely murdered and cannot be used in a fight. If they maintain too much destruction and cannot recover in a few turns.

Thirdly, players can get the overworld map when they are not involved in fighting. Ramza can only move from point to point on the map.  Unlike other Final Fantasy games, he has no freedom of movement. Entering an undeveloped region could result in unexpected fighting. Players can purchase fresh weapons, enlist new warriors, and assign party members to controlled tasks in cities and towns to collect money and other bonuses.
