Description
“Marvel – Ultimate Alliance 2” is a video game that is based on Marvel comic characters. In this game series, it is the second installment and the follow-up to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which came out in 2006. The basic concept of Ultimate Alliance 2 depends primarily on the Hidden War and Civil War storylines from the Marvel comics. In contrast to the first game, which had a unique plot. In an attempt to decrease the confusion that arises from superpowered people’s struggles. The American government introduces the Superhero Registration function after a string of severe attacks on the country. This law requires all superpowered people to function under official regulation.
Critics gave the above game a mixed to good reviews when it was first released, with most believing it to be an improvement compared to its previous. While the game’s branching story, upgraded writing, repeat value, and new character additions were all recognized, some aspects from the first game were left out, drawing criticism.
Gameplay
In gameplay, Players can choose a team of four pre-specified personalities. These are from a wider selection of heroes and villains in the game. Team members can be exchanged around while playing. Several general gameplay mechanics are familiar to the X-Men Legends series. It supports up to four players at once and is played from a linear dungeon crawl viewpoint. The game Vicarious Visions for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC platforms also allows online play through Windows Live/Steam, Xbox Live, and the PlayStation Network.
The new character growth system in the Vicarious Visions edition gives each character four fundamental powers that change as they level up, much like in the original X-Men Legends game. The character development mechanism in the original Marvel – Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends is similar in the n-Space edition of the game for Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PS2, and PSP systems, but with various power set numbers. The n-space edition lacks a substitute costume option, while the Vicarious Visions edition has one that must be gained by beating several enemies under some conditions.
The power system has also been modified to enable the “fusion” of two personalities’ powers to create a brand-new attack. Every single playable personality in the game has an individual connection with every other personality. A good example is when Captain America uses his shield to prevent Storm’s lightning strikes. Characters can get new skills and powers as they level up in the game.
