Description
“Need for Speed – Undercover” is a video game based on the racing of 2008. This is the twelfth edition of the Need for Speed series. Players accept the role of undercover police officers investigating links between street racers, illegal automobiles, and a criminal gang. Moreover, the game allows players to perform illegal street races within the imaginary Tri-City Area.
The game was achieved with favorable responses after release. Most of the reviewers questioned the game’s story, setting up, challenges, and repeated parts. Some versions of the game were given lower scores than others because of serious problems. However, undercover is no longer offered for sale at any online retailers as of 2021.
Gameplay
Firstly, in the gameplay, using a range of certified real-world cars that can be modified and enhanced with new items. Players fight in illegal street races concentrating on various race varieties in the game. They must deal with the police’s role in their attempts to stop the player. Along with the re-intro of Police Chasing events from Most Wanted and Carbon, the game has the normal network, point-to-point, and checkpoint races from the series.
The gameplay is made up of three modes i.e., Career Mode, Single Event Mode, and Multiplayer Mode.
Secondly, in the Career mode, users take control of an undercover police officer charged with removing an organized group that operates in the world of underground street racing. Most events in this mode offer the chance to “dominate” them by finishing them in less time than a specific record for control.
Thirdly, in terms of online multiplayer events. There are two teams of players fighting towards each other to receive points throughout two rounds: in the first round, the “Robbers” gather flags and send them to chosen regions to score points, while the “Cops” try to arrest them to score points. In the second round, the teams change roles, and the team with the highest score wins the match.
